Author Interview – James Copeland

If you could study any subject at university what would you pick? I think it would have to be English. I find I am short in knowledge of that subject.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? By the water!

How do you write – lap top, pen, paper, in bed, at a desk? In 1979 I searched through two hundred used desks and finally settled on one that had been in the Denver mint. When the US Dollar was separated from Gold they cleared out several desk. I found the inventory tag in the drawer along with the date and the desk was prepared for the mint in 1941. That happened to be the year I was born. I have my files and my PC, phone etc. located atop it. I spent over a year refinishing the desk and it has 9 coats of hand rubbed hard wax as a finish.

Where do you get support from? Do you have friends in the industry? KG Books of Alabama!

How much sleep do you need to be your best? I watch the news at nine and rise at 6AM.

Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge and thank for their support? Miss Tracy Kauffman, owner of KG Books of Alabama.

Every writer has their own idea of what a successful career in writing is, what does success in writing look like to you? The mystery readers of America need to have my work available to them. There are hours of entertainment involved. Who am I to refrain from allowing them to enjoy my work? I struggle to get the words down right and in the correct location to create a mystery, when I see that done, I feel successful. More success will be the completion of the marketing process to insure my supporter is successful and that we can go on with the process.

It is vital to get exposure and target the right readers for your writing, tell us about your marketing campaign? We intend to mount a marketing campaign through the social media as well as point of sales in book signing. I am ready for that process.
